Oldstas/Youngstas 8-Ball TourneyOur Mission: "To Develop Leadership Skills
in Young People that Enable Them to Make
a Positive Difference in Their Communities."

Youth Rising conducts special event programming that teaches leadership skills to young people as they participate in fun arts and athletic activities.

International programs have included: 

  • A recording session where Israeli and Palestinian teens from Jerusalem wrote and recorded an original song about Peace.  The song, which is in Arabic, English, and Hebrew, has received airplay in the Middle East. 
  • Another recording session, this one held in Santiago in the Dominican Republic, featured both Dominican and Haitian teens rapping their original song, "Solidaridad" (unity).  The song is about the two cultures sharing the same island.
  • "Un Hora en Santiago" (an hour in Santiago) a group photography project were several teens were given the same hour to express through photos what life in Santiago means to them.  The photos were merged into a beautiful poster.

Programs on Massachusetts' North Shore have included:

  • "Oldstas / Youngstas" group mentoring activities.
  • Sponsorship of several teens to attend the Los Amigos Higher Education Conference held at the University of New Hampshire.
  • A trip to Montreal to participate in a basketball tournament and learn about the culture of Quebec.
