What to Expect:

Every day at Drop-In looks a little different. Youth might come in to hang out with friends, play games, or just have a place to be. Some days include group activities, creative projects, or events. Participation is always optional. Youth get to decide how they spend their time here.

Our Staff:

YR Drop-In Centers are staffed by peer mentors and Certified Peer Specialists committed to helping youth empower themselves and successfully transition into adulthood.

Our Mountain Home Team

Heather Terrain

Heather Terrian is the Program Director for Youth Rising in Mountain Home. She helped launch the Mountain Home site in April 2024 and has worked with youth since 2006 in a variety of roles, including childcare, curriculum development, and program management. Throughout her career, she has supported youth from infancy through young adulthood (ages 0–18), gaining a deep understanding of developmental needs across all stages.

Heather is passionate about helping youth recognize their value by creating developmentally appropriate opportunities that build confidence, self-esteem, and life skills. She believes every young person deserves to feel seen, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Child Studies along with multiple certifications in early education and childcare operations. Heather is also certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid and serves as a Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor, supporting both youth and community members in building awareness, early intervention skills, and mental wellness education.

Heather joined Youth Rising with a deep passion for making a lasting impact and empowering underserved youth in the community.

Hanna Pippen

Hannah Pippen serves as a peer advocate for Youth Rising Mountain Home and is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all youth, regardless of race, gender, class, sexual orientation, or national origin. She brings nearly nine years of experience working with youth in a variety of supportive roles.

Her experience spans multiple stages of her life, including a period as a stay-at-home parent, which strengthened her ability to approach advocacy with patience, empathy, and adaptability. Hannah’s professional focus has centered on supporting individuals with cognitive and mental disabilities, as well as advocating for survivors of abuse and trauma.

Her goal is to empower youth to recognize their strengths, build resilience, and move confidently toward the futures they envision
